There are many well known landmarks of New York City including great cultural spots to learn interesting facts. Below are just a couple of attractions in which you may want to visit while you are spending your vacation in the busy city of New York.
#1 – The Empire State Building
The Empire State Building is a National Historic Landmark which stands more than a quarter mile in the air over New York City. In 1931 the Observatory was opened to the public to view the great atmosphere of Manhattan below. Located on the 86th floor of the Empire State Building the public can see a great panoramic view of New York City and Manhattan. With over 3,500,000 people visiting the 86th floor of the Empire State Building every year it can be a little difficult getting the picture you want of the scenery but in the end it will be worth the wait.
#2 – The Statue of Liberty
The Statue of Liberty comes in second on great attractions to visit while in New York City. Located on a 12 acre island the Statue of Liberty was given as a gift of friendship from the French. The national monument was designated in 1924 and eventually restored on July 4th, 1986. While visiting the island in which the Statue of Liberty is located on you can take tours of the entire island and also take a 45 minute trip into the statue and look out into the harbor of New York City.
